Bio

George Worthy is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and sound artist based in Melbourne. Since completing his studies in classical bassoon and composition at Australian National University, School of Music, and Sound Art at RMIT (First Class Honours), his practice has bought together classical musics and techniques into the world of sound art and electronic music through the electro-acoustic lens.

 

George has collaborated with an array of artists across multiple disciplines including choreographers, poets, composers, community music groups, circus artists, and yoga teachers.

 

He has performed at Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Rainbow Serpent Festival, Dragon Dreaming Festival, Melbourne Magic Show, Bali Spirit Festival, and with bands and ensembles throughout Melbourne; including Crumhorn, Resonant Bloom, The Monotremes and A Parlor O La La.
