George learnt to weave from the Bega Valley Weavers at the age of 13 and now brings together his love for sound and music with his contemporary weaving practice.

Using natural fibres, re-cycled and up-cycled yarns and age old hand weaving techniques, George employs concepts of tone, texture and improvisation to create unique wearable art pieces, blankets and wall hangings.

​

The meeting place of new and old technologies combined with the disciplines of sound and cloth ignite Georges passion for creating beautiful textiles.

Georges is inspired by the Suprematist art movement, symbolism, and Sound art in his weaving works.

​

He operates from his home studio in Melbourne’s inner north.
